Izzy has more than 25 years of hands-on construction experience in New York City. He learned electrical work and carpentry from his father and grew up in a house that he, his brothers, and his father built together. Construction was part of everyday life for him long before it became his career.

Before starting Alpha Dog, Izzy worked for many years as an electrician and built strong relationships with general contractors, architects, interior designers, and other trades throughout the city. He also spent time as a building superintendent on the Upper West Side, which gave him an even deeper understanding of how New York buildings actually work and what can go wrong behind the walls.

At Alpha Dog, Izzy leads construction and everything happening in the field. He works closely with our crew, trades, and clients to take a project from an idea on paper to something that actually works beautifully in the real world.

Troubleshooting is probably his greatest strength. Give Izzy an old building, a strange condition, or a problem that nobody quite knows how to solve, and he is usually happiest figuring it out. He is practical, resourceful, and very good at finding solutions that make sense without making things more complicated than they need to be.

Heidi comes from a fine art and textile design background and has spent most of her career taking creative ideas and figuring out how to actually get them made. Before Alpha Dog, she worked for many years in fashion design and development, managing artists, vendors, samples, approvals, production timelines, and all of the details that have to come together between the original idea and the finished product.

At Alpha Dog, Heidi leads project management, operations, and the growing design side of the business. She works with clients, designers, vendors, and trades to keep projects organized, decisions moving, and everyone working toward the same end result. Her design background gives her a strong eye for color, materials, proportion, and detail, but she is just as interested in how something gets made, what it will cost, and whether it will actually work in the space.

She is especially drawn to projects that sit somewhere between design, fabrication, and construction. Whether it is developing an idea with a client, coordinating a custom piece, working through samples and approvals, or keeping a renovation on track, Heidi likes being the person who connects all of the moving parts.

After five years as president of the condo board in her own Brooklyn building, she also knows firsthand how complicated even a seemingly simple project can become in New York City. She likes a plan, clear communication, and knowing what is happening before someone has to ask.

Landon and Irene are the original Alpha Dogs and the inspiration behind our company’s name. These two rescue Chihuahuas have been part of our family from the beginning. We work so hard to give them a better life, and they are a constant reminder of the personality, loyalty, and heart we wanted the company to have. Small, fierce, opinionated, and completely in charge, they remain the heart of Alpha Dog.
